Modern audio production is at the heart of the work we do at JNB Sound Works, as we both began in the modern production world. We record, edit, mix, master, and produce hundreds of recordings annually, with clients around the world. We strive to cultivate a level of trust and understanding between artists and our team - ultimately, our mission is to serve your music at the highest level possible. We are frequently involved at multiple stages of recording production, from early planning for recording sessions, all the way to liaising with record labels to provide the highest quality of audio at correct technical specifications for distribution. We have earned the trust and respect of many of the hardest-working engineers and producers in acoustic music today, and hope to earn yours as well.

Our Services

  • Recording

    We capture high-resolution audio of performances in the studio and in live venues, with multitrack capabilities and full digital backup, so that no data is ever lost from one-of-a-kind moments. Microphone placement and selection is refined with consultation with our production staff both before the event and on site.

  • Editing

    We begin assembling the perfect recording either using our captured files, or files you’ve received from capture elsewhere, with extreme focus on detail and maximum accuracy and musicality. We have several workstations so that multiple workflows can be achieved, depending on the artist’s preferences and goals for the editing stage.

  • Noise Reduction

    After the editing stage has been completed, or if you bring us an edit from another studio, we can remove both broadband and intermittent noise on unlimited multitracks and complete mixes, using state-of-the-art noise reduction software for stunning results.

  • Mixing

    We balance the edited recording to achieve the most musical result in consultation with the artist and any external producers. We have a full modern complement of analog and digital effects for various genres and styles, to enhance the overall impression of the music being created.

  • Mastering

    We provide a final layer of polish to the mixed recording, either at our studio, or mixed elsewhere, with extreme attention to any missing musical material, noises, or slight technical deficiencies. Finally, we check the recording on multiple listening systems for clarity and translation, and insert metadata and level the recordings to streaming, CD, or vinyl specifications, ready to be delivered to the distributor of your choice.
